Small Sided Soccer is a program for teams U7 through U12.
Teams are split into boy and girl teams starting at U7.
Between U7 and U12, roster sizes gradually move from 8 to 14 players, which allows the players to start to develop more understanding of team play while maintaining a lot of touches on the ball.
U11 is the first year that we keep score & standings.
Small Sided Soccer is designed to build individual & team skills as well as an understanding of the rules of the game.
Here's an overview:
- U7 - 4v4 (no goalkeeper) - maximum size of team is 8
- U8 - 4v4 (no goalkeeper) - maximum size of team is 8
- U9 and U10 - 7v7 (including 1 goalkeeper) - maximum size of team is 12
- U11 and U12 - 9v9 (including 1 goalkeeper) - maximum size of team is 14
Small Sided Soccer teams will play games against other teams in the Pierce County area, typically on Saturdays from September through November.
As teams are formed, coaches will contact players by late July to let them know their team assignment.
